JAFOOLY asked:

I have just started out and don’t have the £££££ to employ full time pc repair technicians, I can do it myself by I am not 100% confident yet, I am still practising till I am 100% confident I can do anything.

I offer a range of services but for desktop pc repair and laptop repair do you think I should just remove them completely or contact a local shop and outsource it to them?

Thanks.

If you are not absolutely confident in your ability then yes you should certainly outsource the work. Elance generally match you with quality workers. In fact, I believe I have attained some stellar jobs on there that were UNDERpriced.

It’s good to talk to people. I remember years ago when i was starting a television/video repair business after leaving my job doing the same thing i didn’t have confidence. When you work for a company you have a lot of resources so if you’re stuck you can quickly find a reference to a solution but going it alone is difficult. You need multiple skills, one in estimating the cost of a job, another in how to talk to the customers, another in resources, then accounting etc etc, but what you’ll find is that the best way is to just do it. You’ll have one success, one failure but you’ll learn quickly by your mistakes. Go to shops offering similar services, make friends, connect with people who know a little more than you, then you always have someone to contact when you are stuck. Best of luck but remember, jump in with both feet first. zbdblues
