Why not save money by outsourcing prisons to another country? Send convicts to prisons in Vietnam or China?

I do like that idea but if it’s the US’s problem they shouldn’t bring it to another country. A huge problem with jails and prisons is that criminals aren’t being punished but rather enjoying things like TV and reading books. Doesn’t sound right there and they don’t even pay for it. Successor

for short term sentences, probably wouldn’t be worth the cost of transportation…

The problem that we face is the fact that prisoners, if put on the international market as a trade good, would not match value for much in the international market. Also, the idea of outsourcing the prisoners to other countries would be seen as the United States just getting rid of unwanted people, which most countries would turn the contact down if faced with the decision. king_geoian13
